PASSION PROJECT EXHIBITION: STUDENT MEMBERS FLEX THEIR TALENTS

The NSHSS Passion Project Exhibition is a platform for Members to showcase their research, passion projects, and solutions to the issues most dear to them, presented to a panel of judges as poster board exhibits. Each exhibit is focused on one of the following themes:

1) STEM and Innovation
2) World Betterment (non-profit, social business, social innovation, or social advocacy efforts)

In addition to sharing their exhibits with event attendees, student exhibitors compete for up to $1,000 in scholarships by presenting their projects to a panel of judges composed of educators & professionals. All students apply to participate in this competition and learn from one another through scholarly camaraderie.

Stem and Innovation - 1st Place

Helen Pang of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School was awarded 1st place in STEM & Innovation, for her exhibit entitled "Structure / Function Relationships of P-quinones for Redox Flow Batteries."

STEM & INNOVATION - 2ND PLACE

Punya Bhasin of Parkland High School was awarded 2nd place in STEM & Innovation, for her exhibit entitled "Using Origami Engineering To Develop A More Efficient Angioplasty Stent."

STEM & INNOVATION - 3RD PLACE

Laura Parces of Montgomery Blair High School was awarded 3rd place in STEM & Innovation, for her exhibit entitled "Muon Magnetic Whirlpool."

ENTREPRENEURSHIP & LEADERSHIP - 1ST PLACE

Tasman Rosenfeld of Grandview Preparatory School was awarded 1st place in Entrepreneurship & Leadership, for his exhibit entitled "SciTeens."

ENTREPRENEURSHIP & LEADERSHIP - 2ND PLACE

Gabrielle Williams was awarded 2nd place in Entrepreneurship & Leadership, for her exhibit entitled "ExCEL Youth Mentoring Institute."

ENTREPRENEURSHIP & LEADERSHIP - 3RD PLACE

Paul Delesbore of Elsik High School was awarded 3rd place in Entrepreneurship & Leadership, for his exhibit entitled "Family Life and Community Resource Center."

WORLD BETTERMENT - 1ST PLACE

Noor Amin of Sidwell Friends School was awarded 3rd place in World Betterment, for her exhibit entitled "Acrylic Dreams: Building Bridges through Art."

WORLD BETTERMENT - 2ND PLACE

Addele Hargenrader of Richard Montgomery High School was awarded 2nd place in World Betterment, for her exhibit entitled "Fostered By the System."

WORLD BETTERMENT - 3RD PLACE

Haleemat Adekoya of Milford Mill Academy was awarded 3rd place in World Betterment, for her exhibit entitled "Dare2Bee."
