Atlanta, GA – April 8, 2026 – The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) is proud to share that members of its staff volunteered with Piedmont Park Conservancy on April 8, 2026, in support of Earth Month and Volunteer Appreciation Month.

During the volunteer event, the NSHSS team helped spread 10,000 pounds of mulch to support Piedmont Park’s tree canopy and beautify high-traffic areas near the bocce courts. The effort contributed to the Conservancy’s ongoing work to care for one of Atlanta’s most beloved public green spaces and outdoor learning environments.

In a note of appreciation following the event, Piedmont Park Conservancy shared that it was thrilled to welcome the NSHSS team of volunteers. The organization expressed gratitude for the group’s hard work and meaningful impact, noting that the team’s support helps care for the city’s outdoor science lab for STEAM education. Conservancy staff also praised the NSHSS team for being kind, welcoming, and a pleasure to work with throughout the day.

“NSHSS is committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” the organization shared. “We are grateful for the opportunity to support Piedmont Park Conservancy and take part in a project that helps preserve and beautify an important community space in Atlanta.”

Through service opportunities like this one, NSHSS continues to encourage a culture of leadership, community engagement, and meaningful action both within its student programs and among its staff.
