Anna Westenhofer
Anna Westenhofer is a senior at Hazel Green High School in Alabama. As Alabama Technology Student Association State President, she is the highest-ranked high school student in engineering in the state. She co-hosted the AL Joint Leadership Development Conference on stage, has given speeches to thousands of students, leads initiatives impacting students statewide, and serves as the face of engineering CTE in Alabama. She is active in 22 organizations, holding leadership roles in 10, reflecting an absolutely exceptional passion and drive.
A published, award-winning author and rising biomedical researcher, Anna’s trajectory accelerated through her transformative work with Stanford University's Bioengineering Research program, where she served as a core member of a team engineering an miRNA-based diagnostic patch to support epilepsy detection in resource-limited regions. This is work that advances medical technology and is positioned to save lives.
Anna’s achievements also include being selected as a 2026 Inspirit AI Stanford/MIT scholar, HGHS Most Likely to Succeed, founding her own business at age 13, ZEST Soap Co., and competing in robotics for 10 years, serving as team captain for 9, all while overcoming severe chronic illness. She plans to channel her experience into her future biomedical engineering firm, Westenhofer Industries, focusing on congenital diseases.
