Austin Bray

Centaurus High School
Lafayette, CO

Austin Bray is a dedicated student with a passion for service in both psychology and engineering. Throughout high school, Austin has been involved with volunteer groups such as Colie’s Closet, a student-led peer education group focused on promoting mental health awareness. During his time at Colie’s, he presented to hundreds of middle and high school students in order to reduce the stigma surrounding depression and suicide. This work led Austin to choose psychology and treatment of depression as the focal point of his extended essay research project for the International Baccalaureate. In addition to his advocacy work, Austin was also involved in engineering service, a student volunteer project partnered with the Wings Over the Rockies museum in Denver. This project developed models of planes and rockets to aid disabled visitors and children at the museum, such as visually impaired people who cannot see a plane for themselves.
