Edward Chen
Edward Chen is a 17-year-old Hip Hop dancer and Taiwanese-American artist. He is a 2023 National YoungArts Finalist in hip-hop dance and president of Two Step Together, his dance community initiative that spreads the joy of hip-hop dance to the youth. Over the summer, his organization taught Hip Hop dance through 40 different workshops across Southern California, with 570 kids and 141 volunteers in attendance. These camps have been recognized on ABC 7 and Spectrum News 1.
Edward is a senior at the Orange County School of the Arts in Santa Ana, California. He is the president of manIA Dance Crew, his conservatory’s Hip Hop crew, and is additionally passionate about Ballroom dance. He dances on his school’s nationally acclaimed Latin Formation competition team and the Ballroom Blitz performance team, where he has helped raise over $1250 through community performances.
Outside his passion for the arts, he serves as the Tzu Chi Foundation’s Youth Delegate to the United Nations, attending conferences in New York and advocating for sustainable development.
Edward aims to continue fostering spaces for dance to thrive for the next generation and earn bachelor’s degrees in dance and international relations.
