
Jakhi Powell
Jakhi Powell is a dynamic student leader, innovator, and community advocate from Knoxville, Tennessee. A dual-enrollment high school student with a passion for STEM and sustainability, Jakhi brings curiosity and commitment to every opportunity. He currently serves as Teen President of the Royal Teens of Jack and Jill of America, Teen President of Kappa League, and a Jr. Commissioner for Knox County. He also holds leadership roles in the Mayor’s Youth Council, Student Government, and the National Achievers Society.
Dedicated to service, Jakhi helped lead the award-winning “Project Rise & Shine,” which established eight Little Free Libraries and distributed over 21,500 servings of food to combat literacy barriers and food insecurity in East Tennessee. With over 180 hours of volunteer service, he empowers others through youth mentorship and community-building initiatives.
Professionally, Jakhi applies his skills in robotics and computing as a Mega Lab Technician at Pellissippi State and an apprentice at The Muse Children’s Science Center. His academic and career interests focus on environmental sustainability and technological innovation. Recognized by NSHSS, ORISE, and other national programs, Jakhi embodies servant leadership, collaboration, and vision. He plans to pursue a doctorate in STEM to develop solutions that create lasting, positive change.
