Sarah Ghaznawi

Sarah is originally from Kabul, Afghanistan, and currently resides in the United States. She is a dedicated 11th-grade student with a deep passion for advocacy, leadership, and community service. She currently serves as President of the Afghan Students Association, where she works to celebrate Afghan culture, support her peers, and create meaningful opportunities for her community. She also serves as Vice President of the Muslim Students Association, a school ambassador, and an NSHSS Ambassador, representing her school on a national level.

Sarah is actively involved in numerous organizations, including the National Honor Society (NHS), HOSA–Future Health Professionals, RHO Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, Model UN, French Club, History Club, Coalition for Equity Club, Asian Students Association, and the Science National Honor Society.

She volunteers with EmpowerHer, an organization dedicated to empowering Afghan girls who are denied access to education. Beginning as an assistant, she will soon transition into a mentor role, helping girls gain confidence and pursue their dreams.

Fluent in Dari (Persian/Farsi), Sarah aspires to attend a top university and pursue a healthcare career, potentially in dentistry, while continuing to advocate for Afghan girls worldwide.
