Sophie Gutter

Sophie Gutter is a high school junior at Saddle River Day School in Saddle River, NJ. She is a straight-A student, a varsity tennis player, and the founder and president of her school’s chess club. Most notably, Sophie is the founder of Writing Mastery, a revolutionary writing software program that uses research-based, multi-sensory techniques and AI-driven feedback to help students worldwide receive equitable writing instruction. Writing Mastery is currently being used at five schools, three learning centers, two schools in Africa, and at a hospital with pediatric cancer patients who are unable to attend school due to medical treatment. Sophie is excited to expand Writing Mastery and, with the help of the Be More Grant, continue to help students around the world, including those in underprivileged communities, receive high-quality writing instruction.
