Global Leadership Adventures

Global Leadership Adventures gives teens something that’s hard to get in a classroom: the chance to step into the real world, tackle meaningful challenges and discover what genuinely excites them. Whether a student is academically driven, building a competitive college profile, or simply exploring future career possibilities, GLA combines hands-on learning, adventure excursions, leadership development and service experiences that help young people connect their interests to real-life impact. From medicine and wildlife conservation to engineering and education, students gain exposure to potential career paths while developing the confidence, independence, global perspective and problem-solving skills that colleges and future employers value. Just as importantly, they return home with a clearer sense of who they are, what motivates them and where they want to go next.

Why enroll with Global Leadership Adventures?

Leadership isn’t something you’re born with, it’s something you build. At GLA, leadership is woven into every part of the program experience, helping students develop confidence, self-awareness, and the skills to create positive change. Students discover their unique leadership style and learn how to lead with purpose.

GLA students don’t just visit a destination. They make a meaningful impact while they’re there. By participating in community-led service projects, students work alongside local partners to support real needs and contribute to lasting, sustainable change. It’s a hands-on opportunity to give back and gain perspective.

Real leadership starts when students step outside the classroom and into the world. Hands-on, immersive learning helps teens move beyond theory to truly experience different cultures, perspectives and ways of life. Build the understanding, empathy and global awareness that truly shapes confident young leaders.

Adventure pushes us to explore new paths and step outside our comfort zones, an essential part of developing as a leader. It also brings a sense of discovery and fun! From river rafting and zip lining to seeing the iconic Machu Picchu for the first time, it will certainly be an adventure you will never forget.

The GLA difference

Summer Springboard staff, from instructors to Program Directors and Mentors, provide guidance to college-bound teens as they gain professional insight, self-awareness, and the confidence needed for success in college and beyond.

5-point safety system

We believe in the transformative power of travel and encourage students to step beyond their comfort zones, but never without strong safeguards in place. GLA’s 5-Point Safety System supports student health and well-being at every stage of the journey. These rigorous standards are built into every program, offering peace of mind for both students and families while they focus on learning, growth, and discovery.

Full-service parent support

We’re committed to supporting parents every step of the way, before, during, and after the program. From pre-departure help with flights, passports, and full access to the GLA Travel Portal, to in-country peace of mind through a 24-hour emergency hotline, direct updates when needed, and regular blogs with photos and stories from the field, families stay connected throughout.

Home base lodging

Home Base is designed to feel like a safe, comfortable home away from home. It serves as a central gathering place where students come together to reflect, connect, and build community after active days in the field. While accommodations vary by location, every Home Base is carefully selected to ensure safety and security, with dedicated spaces reserved exclusively for GLA students and staff.

All-inclusive programs

GLA programs are all-inclusive. Tuition covers nearly everything except airfare! This includes lodging, airport pick-up and drop-off, meals, staff support, excursions, educational materials, and secondary medical and evacuation insurance for international programs. Scholarships and flexible payment plans are also available. Students typically arrive as solo travelers and join a supportive peer group on site, though friends and siblings are welcome to travel together.
