Andrea Diaz del Valle

Andrea is a dedicated science educator at Cristo Rey Tampa High School, where she is entering her fourth year of teaching. After moving to Tampa with her family, Andrea found a welcoming and supportive community at Cristo Rey that quickly became an important part of her family’s new chapter. As a teacher, she is passionate about creating meaningful and equitable opportunities for her students to grow academically, spiritually, and personally. At Cristo Rey Tampa, she works to ensure that students are not only prepared for college and future careers, but also empowered to see themselves as valued members of their school and the broader Tampa community. She believes that education should foster both academic excellence and a strong sense of belonging. She is especially committed to engaging students in science through critical thinking, discussion, real-world applications, and hands-on learning. She strives to create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, challenge ideas, and take ownership of their learning. Through her teaching and involvement in the Cristo Rey community, she hopes to help students recognize their potential and see the many possibilities available to them.
