Samuel Batista
Samuel Batista has been an educator for the past 11 years and holds a Master's Degree in Teaching Students with Disabilities in Secondary Education with a specialty in Bilingual Education. He has taught Biology for the bulk of his career and serves as a mentor for at risk students in public school. He specializes in culturally responsive teaching to break down barriers and make science as engaging as possible, establish accessible learning opportunities, and integrate technology and mentor youths with advice on success options they have after high school. What Samuel loves about teaching is seeing the spark when a student learns a new skill and takes off with full excitement to forge their path to graduation and beyond. In his spare time, he loves devoting time to his family, reading, writing, creating YouTube videos and video games.
NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is giving four (4) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
