
Solomon Osofero
Solomon Osofero is a highly experienced Science Teacher with 17 years of teaching middle, high school Science and University college-level courses. He earned a BSc in Biology and MAF and PhD in Aquaculture, He inspires student enthusiasm by connecting individually and offering engaging lessons and demonstrations. Currently teaching at one of the largest black county in the USA, Solomon covers subjects such as Biogeochemical Systems, Environmental Sciences, Biology, AP Biology, and Forensic Lab Science, while also serving as the Co-Chair of the Science Department. Previously, he was the MESA coordinator and Science Department Chair at a junior high school. Solomon has written science curricula and has experience mentoring, counseling, and providing career guidance to students. He has published research in peer-reviewed journals and is an active volunteer, including serving as a national judge for the Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision STEM competition. Solomon is currently participating in a five-year Master Teacher Fellowship with Towson University’s Making STEM Matter program, funded by the National Science Foundation. He holds multiple certifications, including an Advanced Professional Certificate in Biology with Maryland State Department of Education.
NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is giving four (4) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
