One of the best known benefits of being an NSHSS member is access to organizational and company scholarships. But did you know that NSHSS also has a number of company sponsored scholarships available through the NSHSS Foundation?
The NSHSS Foundation was established to support education in the form of scholarships targeted to under-represented minorities who express interest in pursuing careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), business, economics, and public policy. Because the goal of the NSHSS Foundation is to help increase the representation of minorities in careers where they are under-represented, these scholarships are open to all students and you do not need to be an NSHSS member to apply.
Here are two company sponsored scholarships that are now accepting applications on the NSHSS foundation website:
Hollister Co. Anti-Bullying Scholarship 2018
Eligibility Requirements: High school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants may be U.S. or international students.
Scholarship Award: Ten $2,500 scholarships renewable for three years
Hollister Co. is continuing a college scholarships program for outstanding students who have academically persevered while experiencing bullying and for those who have led anti-bullying efforts in their schools and communities. (Formerly called the A&F Anti-Bullying Scholarship).
Scholarship funds will be sent to the university where the student enrolls and can be used for tuition, books, room and board, or other college-related expenses. The $2,500 scholarships are renewable for up to three (3) years following the scholarship winner’s freshman year, depending on the student’s academic progress and continuing in full-time student status.

Andeavor Youth Leadership Awards
Andeavor Companies, Inc. is providing twenty $2,500 college scholarships for outstanding young leaders. This new scholarship has been launched to encourage young scholars who are leading by example in their schools and communities.
- A total of twenty (20) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded.
- Eligibility requirements include high school seniors graduating in 2018 who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of one of the following 19 states where Andeavor does business:
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin or Wyoming
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Scholarship funds will be sent to the university or college where the recipients enroll in August 2018.
