Abhinav Sobti
Abhinav is a student researcher, inventor, and sustainability advocate who combines AI, engineering and scientific research to address global challenges. He has conducted advanced research in sustainable cooling materials alongside researchers at the University of South Florida, applying principles of radiative heat transfer to improve energy efficiency, and later piloted the same cooling technology at his school under real-world climate conditions. He also developed an AI-powered robotic arm for automated waste segregation, currently under patent review, that won first prize at a major science fair.
His achievements include earning the world’s highest mark in GCSE Chemistry, receiving a Gold Award in the British Physics Olympiad, qualifying for AIME through AMC 12, winning multiple UKMT Gold Awards, receiving the COBIS Student Achievement Award, and representing his school at prestigious international mathematics competitions.
Beyond academics, Abhinav founded Gift of Sight, a global initiative that has collected and distributed over 15,000 used eyeglasses for underprivileged children through partnerships with NGOs and student ambassadors. Within his school community, he has held leadership roles in the Physics, Mathematics, and Sustainability Societies, organized events and environmental initiatives, and served as a lead organizer of a national AI hackathon. Through his leadership and commitment, Abhinav consistently demonstrates the ability to use STEM to create meaningful societal impact.
