Anna McPherson
As an avid leader with various interests, Anna has found her calling in clinical medicine and health policy. Through her involvement in the National Institute of Health STEP-UP research program, Anna first authored and published an endocrinology research manuscript. As a National Youth Advocate for Y-USA, she enlisted congressional support for legislation to provide equitable healthcare and medical resources to rural and less-privileged areas of the US. Anna is also the founder of one of the first female Boy Scout troops and one of the first females to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. An All-State runner at Calvary Day School, Anna serves as the Ethics Club President, Varsity Cross Country and Track Team Captain, and Youth and Government President. Anna will attend Duke University in the fall as a Robertson Scholar majoring in biology on a pre-med track.
