Brody Zavodnick
Brody is driven by a deep commitment to protecting the ocean and creating meaningful environmental change. As a 2025 Riley’s Way Fellow, Brody collaborates with peers nationwide to develop initiatives that inspire compassion and strengthen communities.
Combining a love for hockey with a passion for sustainability, Brody initiated a hockey stick recycling program, reducing landfill waste & ecological impact. Brody established a connection to Rink2Reef, an organization that repurposes broken sticks to restore Oyster Reefs, improving water quality and providing habitats for marine life. Brody has organized local reef building events to engage the hockey community.
In addition to environmental advocacy, Brody serves as a Simon’s Heart Ambassador, promoting heart health awareness and supporting efforts to prevent sudden cardiac arrest in young people.
Along with NSHSS, Brody is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, the Surfrider Foundation, Students Demand Action and is also a Certified Lifeguard. When not championing for clean oceans, Brody can be found at the rink, surfing, admiring high-performance luxury vehicles, or promoting rescue by parading homeless foster puppies around town.
Through leadership, service, and innovation, Brody is driven to protect what truly matters — both people and the planet while inspiring others to do the same.
