
Colin Horsley
Colin Horsley is a senior at San Ramon Valley High school. As the program leader of the Gary Hunt Produce Program at St Timothy's Episcopal Church in Danville, he maintains and harvests the church’s herb garden. In addition, he works with his congregation with extra fruit that they want harvested and donated. He then arranges to donate the produce to the local food bank, such as the Monument Crisis Center. He educates the church population about the benefits of herbs and teaches them to be more mindful of their resources. As the youth organizer at St Timothy’s, Colin has held leadership roles in local food drives as well as a medical kit campaign for Ukraine. Colin is a California Students Federation Sealbearer. Being a perfect GPA student who loves Math and Science, he has participated in the prestigious Livermore National Labs Summer STEM program. He has shared his passion for STEM field as a teacher’s aide at the College4Kids summer program at Diablo Valley College, teaching middle-schoolers 3D printing skills. In his spare time, he likes to ride his bike and participates in the Great Cycle Challenge, USA to raise funds for pediatric cancer patients.
The NSHSS Foundation encourages environmental stewardship among high school students globally through the Foundation Earth Day Award. Students submit their environmental project they are working on currently, and provide details on the impact of the project in their communities and how it will impact the future.
