Dakota Ashmore

Branson High School
Branson, MO

Dakota Ashmore is an incoming Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Colorado Boulder with a passion for innovation, sustainability, and ocean engineering. Throughout high school, Dakota was actively involved in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, SkillsUSA, varsity golf, and community service, while also working as a lifeguard and swim instructor.

After undergoing a total gastrectomy due to a hereditary cancer syndrome, Dakota transformed a personal challenge into a driving force for advocacy. Through work with the Debbie’s Dream Foundation, Dakota has advocated on Capitol Hill for increased stomach cancer research and early detection initiatives.

Dakota hopes to combine engineering and entrepreneurship to develop technologies that improve lives, particularly in underwater exploration and sustainable design. Grateful for the support of scholarship donors, Kodi is excited to begin this next chapter at the University of Colorado Boulder and is committed to using education to make a meaningful impact

Scholarships Awarded in 2026: Claes Nobel Future Female Leader Scholarship

The Claes Nobel Future Female Leader Scholarship was established to encourage and empower young women to assume future leadership roles in their colleges and universities, their careers and communities, and to become mentors for the young women following in their footsteps. Leadership doesn’t have to mean being the head of a club. Actions, not titles, make leaders.
