Dylan Iskandar
Dylan is a junior at Mira Costa High School and a software developer interested in the intersection between artificial intelligence and music composition. He was awarded Grand Prize Winner of Google Code-in 2019 and founded RGBsec, the #1 ranked HS cybersecurity team in the US (2020). During the pandemic, Dylan and his brother Winston developed GroceryBuddies, an iOS app. They placed 1st in the Congressional App Challenge, had their app featured in the Capitol Building, and were invited to the #HouseOfCode reception in Washington, D.C. Dylan is also a published author and has led research projects at several national laboratories including the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Dylan leads Mathisi-fy, a nonprofit aimed at empowering underserved youth in the field of technology. Their curriculum has been implemented in 30+ schools worldwide, and have been sponsored by Google, NVIDIA, and more. Additionally, Dylan hosts FIRST Lego League robotics tournaments and mentors a robotics program for local elementary school students. He is also a classical pianist, and has traveled internationally to perform at concerts (notably Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Zipper Hall) and compete at festivals (recently Vršac, Berlin, Los Angeles). Dylan also organizes benefit concerts for mental illness awareness and opportunities for under-resourced students interested in pursuing musical arts.
