Hannah Schaeffer
Hannah Schaeffer is a passionate young theatre performer from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, dedicated to musical theatre and community engagement. She has acted in a professional production at Rainbow Stage, Canada’s longest-running outdoor theatre, and regularly performs in community and educational theatre productions throughout the year. An active volunteer since age eight, Hannah has contributed her time to the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, and Shakespeare in the Ruins. She is deeply committed to promoting inclusivity and representation in the arts, and her BIPOC and multicultural identity (Jewish and Japanese) informs her perspective as a performer and leader.
Hannah also demonstrates academic excellence and leadership in her school and theatre communities. She often mentors younger cast members and supports backstage operations in addition to her onstage roles. Hannah plans to pursue post-secondary studies in musical theatre performance and hopes to one day create accessible and diverse spaces in professional theatre. With a strong sense of social responsibility and a clear vision for the future, she is honored to be recognized as an NSHSS scholarship recipient.
