Jaimik Patel graduated from Northwest Whitfield High School in 2023 and is currently attending Dalton State College with a focus on pre-engineering. Jaimik plans to attend graduate school and earn a civil engineering and architecture degree. Jaimik is among the top ten percent of scholars who received the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit during his junior year in high school. Jaimik graduated with an Honors of Distinction Award and was the first in the family to attend college. While attending college, Jaimik was selected on the Dean's List of Dalton State College and has volunteered with the local Blood Drive.

College can be challenging, from filling out financial aid, enrolling in classes, choosing a major, and making new friends. The NSHSS First Generation Scholarship recognizes first generation college students for their academic and leadership initiatives.
