Joshua Ferriere
Joshua Ferriere (he/him) is a senior attending Mark Keppel High School and co-founder & COO of 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Therapicasso. Therapicasso is an LA-based organization focused on using art to ameliorate the mental well-being of its community. His liking for community engagement ignited after gaining exposure to state policy through his internship with State Assembly Member Mike Fong. There, he grew interested in addressing a major issue within his community, mental health and stigma.
Besides advocacy, Joshua has always worked to enrich himself and help others. He currently holds a job position at a Taiwanese dessert restaurant, Meet Fresh. He’s also his debate team’s congressional debate co-captain, becoming a mentor and coach for 20+ students and guiding them through the vigorous format of Congressional debate. Following an interest in the healthcare profession, Joshua decided to take a volunteer position at Huntington Hospital. There, he held riveting conversations with healthcare professionals, which, with the invigorating experience of caring for hundreds of patients, reinforced his interest in the field. Presently, he’s aspiring to work in the healthcare profession and further help those in need.
