Lea Abito

Lea Abito is an accomplished artist and student. She is a photographer and is skilled in photo editing and photo manipulation with Adobe Photoshop. Lea is passionate about art and her artworks are influenced by her Caribbean and African culture.

Lea consistently maintained high marks in high school and graduated with the AICE Diploma with Distinction and other art and academic recognitions. She was an avid member of several honor societies, including the National Art Honor Society, where she served as curator. Lea is an exhibited artist and was a Scholastics Art & Writing Awards winner for digital art and photography. Lea was also included in an exhibition of teen photographers at the J. Paul Getty Museum.

Lea is majoring in Digital Journalism at Florida International University. She is a contributor to Caplin News, a news publication of Florida International University's Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media. She hopes to pursue a career in photojournalism and continue her passion for visual storytelling to uncover the stories of those seldom heard or seen.
