Lumina Zhang

Lumina Zhang is a senior at Winston Churchill High School in Maryland and an active music educator through her volunteering activities. Lumina serves as the Executive Intern of the Tacy Foundation, an organization that supports the community through music. She is also the Chief Intern of three Tacy Foundation programs: Piano Pals, Composer’s Circle, and Live Music. Through Piano Pals, Lumina leads high schoolers in teaching underprivileged elementary schoolers piano. She has trained over 40 high schooler mentors and impacted over 60 children. In the future, Lumina hopes to help create an education system where every student has the opportunity to receive quality music education. Lumina is an active student leader and advocate outside of music and teaching. She has been involved in student government for the past 7 years, currently serving as her school’s Class President and the Board of Directors Student Representative of the Maryland Association of Student Councils. Lumina is also the Co-Founder and Co-President of Eco MoCo, a national student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops youth leadership skills through environmental projects.
