Salini Pillai
Salini Pillai is a junior at Granite Bay High School in California. She is dedicated to social justice issues, and has focused on work which increases awareness of microaggressions and their impact on inclusion. Salini created an Instagram page and launched a series of webinars to raise awareness about bias and provide methods to combat it. In addition, Salini is an intern at a mediation firm where she helps guide conflicts to resolution. Salini is also a national championship level speaker and debater who has qualified for the super competitive California State Championships (as a sophomore) in Lincoln-Douglas, the National Speech and Debate Championships in World Schools Debate and Duo Interpretation, and has consistently placed well in regional and local debate. Salini’s hobbies include dancing, baking, and reading.
