Selin Atakan

Selin Atakan is a compassionate individual dedicated to community service, animal welfare, and academic excellence. Since June 2021, Selin has been a committed volunteer at the SPCA, now serving as a Volunteer trainer, facilitating adoptions, and actively participating in SPCA events. In 2023, Selin attended Tufts University's Adventures in Vet Medicine as a Pre-College Program, gaining hands-on veterinary experience. Selin also volunteered at Memorial Hermann Medical Center Hospital, demonstrating versatility in healthcare settings. 
 
At Carnegie Vanguard High School, Selin founded and led the TAWK Service Club, organizing fundraisers and volunteering events for local shelters. Selin has been a Varsity player on the tennis court, securing district championships. Beyond school, Selin served as an HTA Tennis Instructor and volunteered for the Empty the Shelter Project by K9 Angels Rescue, providing free spaying, neutering, and vaccination services. 
 
Selin is a member of the National Hispanic Honor Society, National Honor Society, and The National Society of High School Scholars. 
 
In summary, Selin is a well-rounded individual who excels in community service, academics, and sports and has a passion for making a positive impact.
