Sonia Su
Sonia Su is a student interested in biology and art. She is involved in research and art throughout high school. She conducted group microbiology experiments on how pH and temperature affect the antimicrobial activity of hydrogen peroxide against E.coli and won 1st place in the 2023 IUSD science fair. She was also a student researcher at the 2023 Summer Science Program, where she delved into biochemical experiments and applied computational tools to design a fungicide against Verticillium Longisporum. Sonia is working at Rubicon Biotechnology as an intern, practicing techniques on gel electrophoresis, various biochemical assays, etc. In addition to research, Sonia finds joy in drawing, especially for anime and animals. She drew related artworks for mental health clubs and created STEM animations on YouTube for the American Science and Technology Association. Sonia aims to blend her scientific curiosity and creativity towards a career in surgery or in emergency medicine.
