Sophie Kim

Sophie Kim is the founder and executive director of an environmental nonprofit organization with 700+ members spanning 30+ countries. Her organization, The Clean & Green Initiative (TCAGI), has received funding and support from DoSomething.org, the Jane Goodall Institute, Bow Seat Ocean Awareness, and more. Additionally, TCAGI has been featured in publications by Blue Shield and Project Green Schools. One of the projects TCAGI is currently working on that Sophie is particularly passionate about is the organization's children's book series, the first book on track to be published around late April! She was inspired to start the project because of her history as a young child struggling with eco-anxiety; the first book is intended to help young children who are struggling with their feelings about the climate crisis to know that they are not alone and show them ways to become involved in small ways. Sophie is beyond honored to receive the NSHSS Earth Day Award and excited to continue her environmental work in college!
