Tingrui Xie
Tingrui Mary Xie is a high school senior, published author, and activist for women in STEM. She is the founder of Her STEM Journey, an organization that works to encourage interest in STEM, especially for women. She has created over 140 educational YouTube videos on her channel, Mary’s Study Journey. In addition, her passion for STEM was brought to the local middle school. She has taught several workshops to inspire and provide opportunities for younger students interested in these fields. Her dedication to using technology for social good has led her to receive the 2025 Digital4Good Changemaker award.
Mary was recognized for her work in journalism, as she was chosen as the only delegate from Mississippi and scholarship recipient of the 2024 Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference. There, she was further elected to be a commencement speaker.
In addition, she serves as the Mississippi Secretary of State student ambassador, Student Body Vice President and Mu Alpha Theta President of her high school. She also enjoys writing and has published a 348-page novel that is sold on Amazon. In addition, she won second place for her poem in the Eudora Welty Awards for Creative Writing competition.
