NSHSS Foundation + Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) Economics and Financial Literacy Educator Grant

Award: Two (2) $500 awards

Eligibility: Any high school educator currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States or internationally.  

Grant Details: The Foundation for Financial Education (FEE) in partnership with the NSHSS Foundation is providing two (2) $500 grants to reward and enhance economic and financial literacy education, activities, innovation, and classroom excellence for teachers in that field. We are looking for your most creative and original quizzes, activities, or teaching tools to share with other high school teachers for use in their economics or financial literacy classrooms. Funds may be used for supplies, materials, field trips or other resources to enhance the delivery of course material.  

Possible topics for your teaching module include:  

  • Economic Way of Thinking 

  • Historical Economic Events 

  • Markets 

  • Economic Indicators 

  • Economic Systems 

  • Economic Interdependence 

  • Fiscal Policy 

  • Monetary Policy 

  • Market Structures 

  • Personal Finance 

  • Supreme Court

All submissions may be considered for possible publication on the FEE in the Classroom Learning Center. 

Please note: NSHSS educators are eligible to receive one NSHSS grant per academic year. 

Application Requirements: 

  • Prompt response of 250 words or less describing your economics or financial literacy lesson topic, format, audience, purpose, and desired impact 

  • Lesson submission (Quiz, Activity, or Teaching Tool) 

  • Professional resume 

  • Headshot 

  • Principal/Administrator recommendation

Closing Date: September 30, 2021 by 11:59PM
