Theresa Fischer
Theresa Fischer is originally from Oberlin Kansas and a graduate of Emporia State University. She has been teaching choir and theater for 15 years, the last 11 being at Fredonia Jr/Sr. High School and is also currently the Kansas All State Treble Choir Chair for KMEA. Theresa will also begin teaching applied voice at Independence Community College this fall and will be the music director for the ICC Spring Musical, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.” As well as her new role with ICC, she will also be finishing up her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance this year at Pittsburg State University.
Theresa has performed with the Wichita Grand Opera, Opera Kansas and the Kansas City Opera Institute. She has been the musical director for past Neewollah musicals such as “The Adams Family” and “Shrek.”
Theresa is the founder and director of the Fredonia Arts Council Summer Theater program and is the organist, cantor and music director at Sacred Heart Church in Fredonia.
Theresa is married to, Matt Fischer, counselor at Jeffereson Elementary in Independence, and they have adorable 4 year old twins, Wally and Lucy.
NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is awarding fifteen (15) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
