Tina Huang is entering her 12th year of teaching and 10th year as the Orchestra Director at Newbury Park High School in Thousand Oaks, California. In addition to being the founding instructor to the school's feeder middle school, she was instrumental in growing the 9-person class into a 60-person program with four levels of instruction. Tina has brought the group to local and nationwide competitions and has led them to perform at prestigious halls such as the Chicago Orchestra Hall. She advocated for and founded the school's IB Music and Music Fundamentals classes. She earned her undergraduate in Music Performance and a graduate degree in Music Education at Northwestern University in Illinois.

Grants Awarded in 2023: School Supplies Grant

NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is awarding fifteen (15) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
