Make a difference through volunteering

We want to help our NSHSS community with an array of resources and opportunities focused on volunteering. NSHSS is founded upon the beliefs of world betterment, and we believe volunteerism is a fantastic way to build leadership skills.

Online Volunteering

Check out these online volunteer opportunities with NSHSS partners.

Volunteer at NSHSS Member Events

Earn official volunteer hours, build leadership skills, and make new friends while helping behind the scenes at NSHSS Member Events.

Volunteers receive official recognition at the event and a special NSHSS souvenir as a thank-you. Help with registration, greeting attendees, social media, and more — or explore any volunteer role that fits your interests.

NSHSS Member Event Volunteers 2025

Available Volunteer Roles

Volunteer Captain

Volunteer Captains help lead communication and support volunteer operations before and during NSHSS events. Before the event, they review the schedule and materials, join the volunteer WhatsApp group as an admin, and help welcome and motivate volunteers. On event day, they oversee social media volunteers and takeovers, stay active in the group chat for real-time coordination, and assist with assignments as needed throughout the event.

Social Media

Take photos of NSHSS members and their parents in front of event signage to capture special moments throughout the day. Record short video testimonials for social media using the following prompts: “Why did you join NSHSS?”, “What is your favorite thing about NSHSS?”, and “What do you enjoy about this NSHSS event?” Encourage participants to speak clearly and authentically and thank them for sharing their experience.

Registration/Stage Hand

Welcome attendees as they arrive and ensure they have a positive and efficient check-in experience. Assist each guest with scanning their ticket and completing the check-in process. Guide attendees through the badge-building station, offering support as needed and replenishing supplies throughout the day. Help attendees scan the QR code so they can view the event program on their personal devices. Help place and remove items on stage in between sessions as needed.

Greeter/Guide

Welcome attendees to the event, hand out event programs, direct attendees to the next event, help attendees find the location of the next event, show attendees where to find the event program description signage, and assist with other zones as needed.
