2020 Thoughts

2020 is a
Stressful sci-fi series showcasing Saharan sand and a Coronavirus crisis;
Showcasing disaster, desperation, and death.
Protests, pressure, politics;
Fear for family, friends, future, freedom;
Quarantine questions, identity issues without normalcy to guide you.
Days are dreams, no one has an anchor.
Powerless.
Yet we can have
Conference calls curled comfortably on the couch,
We can
Work without worry from home,
Skype into school,
Cross out the daily commute,
Have fun family nights,
Strive for strength and discover different interests;
Rest, reflect, release, reset.
2020 is still a stressful sci-fi series come to life,
Yet it is rife
With opportunity.

About the Author: Maggie has been an NSHSS member since March, 2020. She is also a very active Ambassador. She is always willing to contribute and participate in society opportunities and volunteering activities.

"My goal in life is to be the best person I can be, both academically and in my daily life. I strive to be the best in my class and to be the friend that anyone needs or wants. I’m passionate about writing, advocating, and/or volunteering to help the environment, change social issues such as income inequality and corruption, and ensure equal opportunity for all. In my (very little) free time, I enjoy hanging out with and training my llamas and alpacas for our fairs and shows, learning new things, writing (both journalism and creative writing), and volunteering to help others. I am a hard worker, both in and out of school, and I plan on making the most out of any scholarships I receive, continuing to strive to be at the top of my classes, and always doing my best to give back to my community through the opportunities I am given."
