Brandy Rood is a native Texan that grew up in the Houston area. She holds Bachelor's Degrees in Theatre and Spanish and graduated from the University of Houston with a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre. Brandy is in her 20th year as Director of Theatre at Humble High School. HHS is a school of approximately 3,000 students, 94% minority and 75% low-socioeconomic status, right outside Houston. Brandy teaches six levels of Theatre Arts, including the International Baccalaureate Theatre Program; she directs five play productions each year and is the founder of the internationally ranked Slam Poetry team.
NSHSS is providing five (5) $500 grants to help defray costs of educational conference registration, travel, and accommodations.
