Cynthia Pereira is an IB Spanish teacher at South Iredell High School in Statesville, NC. She cares greatly about her students and takes the time to build community in her classrooms through established norms and expectations. She is always researching and employing instructional methods that engage and inspire her students. She is an excellent example of a reflective educator who always looks for ways to grow in her practice. She brings intercultural mindfulness into her classroom through each lesson. She encourages her students to be open-minded and accepting of other cultures.
NSHSS will award two (2) $1,000 grants to teachers in International Baccalaureate programs. Funds may be used for supplies, materials, field trips, or other resources to enhance the delivery of International Baccalaureate courses. NSHSS educators are eligible to receive one NSHSS grant per academic year.
