Karen Cook

Dr. Karen Cook is a 23 year veteran agriculture teacher that teaches at the Houston Career & Technology Center in Houston, MS. Being one of two agriculture teachers in the Diversified Agriculture Program, she is the FFA Advisor to the Houston FFA Chapter. Over the years, Dr. Cook has coached numerous teams that have competed at the State and National level, advised students on Supervised Agricultural Experience projects, and has had 9 students that have been State FFA Officers. In addition, the Houston FFA Chapter has received National Chapter Awards from the National FFA Organization. In addition to teaching, Dr. Cook helps write agriculture curriculum, mentors agriculture education student teachers, and is the treasurer of the Mississippi Association of Agricultural Educators.

NSHSS is providing 1 $500 grant to be used during 2025 to help defray costs of educational conference registration, travel, and accommodations.
