Melissa Hutchinson
Melissa Hutchinson teaches IB Biology and IB Environmental Systems and Societies at Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Before becoming a teacher, she spent over 20 years in informal education at camps and nature centers. She brings that passion for immersing students in the great outdoors to her classroom. Shortridge High School is an urban “IB for All” school, where every student in the building is an IB student and pursues either the IB Diploma or the Career Program Certificate. As such, Melissa has the privilege of introducing many young people to the wonders of the natural world through field trips and the Group 4 Project camping trip. Melissa holds an MAT in Secondary Science Education from Marian University in Indianapolis and an MS in Environmental Studies, Environmental Education from Antioch University New England in Keene, New Hampshire.
