The day began bright and early on Saturday with a networking breakfast at Alfred Lerner Hall, setting the stage for meaningful connections before members gathered in the auditorium for the official welcome ceremony. Throughout the day, participants engaged in dynamic workshops, explored the College and Career Fair, and attended an exclusive session with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to learn about unique student opportunities. Members also enjoyed guided tours of the Columbia University campus. The event concluded with the inspiring NSHSS Member Recognition Ceremony, where students were celebrated on stage for their outstanding academic accomplishments.

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Event Check-In, Badge Pick-Up, & Networking Breakfast
Attendees checked in with a digital or printed copy of their tickets and received name badges in the Alfred Lerner Hall foyer. NSHSS provided a catered continental breakfast for all event participants.

10:00 AM - 10:15 AM: NSHSS Welcome to Columbia
NSHSS welcomed attendees to campus & kicked off the Columbia University Member Event with a warm welcome from our emcee, followed by special video messages from Columbia University. These videos captured the excitement, inspiration, and energy of the campus, setting the stage for a full day of celebration, learning, and connection.
10:15 AM - 10:45 AM: CollegeAdvisor.com - College Admissions Success in 2025 and Beyond”

12:15 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch Break & Campus Tour
Attendees visited nearby eateries for lunch on their own & enjoyed a self-guided tour of Columbia University.
2:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Prequel - “AI As Your Co-Founder”
Prequel presented AI As Your Co-Founder, exploring how artificial intelligence can support entrepreneurship and innovation. Attendees learned practical strategies for leveraging AI tools to enhance projects, streamline workflows, and drive creative business ideas
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Columbia Pre-College Programs
Members learned about Columbia University’s Pre-College Programs, gaining insight into the wide range of academic and enrichment opportunities available before college. Attendees explored programs designed to challenge students, develop skills, and provide a taste of the collegiate experience at Columbia.
3:00 PM- 3:30 PM: Summery Discovery - "Propel Your Academic Future”
Summery Discovery presented Propel Your Academic Future, guiding students on strategies to plan and achieve their academic goals. Attendees explored tools and resources to strengthen their skills, set actionable objectives, and take steps toward a successful educational journey.
3:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Panel Discussion
Tony Betton, Jr. and Myr’lice’ Dickens shared their academic journeys, offering insights and practical tips for continuing education. They discussed strategies for success, answered questions from attendees, and inspired members with their experiences and achievements.
4:00 PM– 5:00 PM: Member Recognition Ceremony
The day concluded with the NSHSS Member Recognition Ceremony, honoring students for their academic achievements, leadership, and community contributions. Members were invited on stage to celebrate their successes, making it a memorable and inspiring close to the event.
