NSHSS Member Event at University of California, Berkeley

Be Honored at Berkeley!

On Saturday, September 21, NSHSS will welcome members and their families to Berkeley, California, for the first time for a Member Event at the University of California, Berkeley!

This one-day event will include a networking breakfast, a helpful information session with Q&A from current UC Berkeley students, a College & Career Fair, and engaging educational sessions. The event will end with the NSHSS Member Recognition Ceremony, where each member will be honored and receive an NSHSS medallion for their academic achievements!

Event Agenda

Attendees will check in with a digital or printed copy of their tickets, and members will receive name badges.

Attendees will be able to gather information from College & Career Fair exhibitors. NSHSS will provide a catered continental breakfast for all event participants to enjoy while they speak to exhibitors and other members!

NSHSS will welcome attendees to the Berkeley campus and share information about admissions, campus life, and more at Cal!

In this brief introduction to our PreCollege Scholars Program, students and families will learn about our diverse offerings and why this may be the program for you!  Our staff will share insights into the student, academic and personal experiences that will offer a glimpse into the college experience for participants.  While our program is reserved for rising juniors and seniors please all are welcome to learn about PreCollege!

UC Scout is a University of California program that provides online high school courses and curricula. With both credit and non-credit options, UC Scout’s asynchronous courses can meet A-G requirements and high school graduation requirements, and are WASC accredited and NCAA approved!

Attendees will have the chance to gather information from College & Career Fair exhibitors, further explore the UC Berkeley campus, and visit nearby eateries for lunch on their own.

Hear from NSHSS Scholarships winners about their tips for finding, applying for, and receiving scholarships! With live Q&A!

Horton Test Prep will discuss the many changes with the exams going digital and the ACT making the Science section optional on their upcoming online version. Learn what an adaptive digital exam is all about and how it can help with earning merit-based scholarships!

Learn how the Army ROTC program can help you reach your goals!

NSHSS Members will hear from University of California, Berkeley students about navigating campus life, choosing an appropriate major, and other general information about Cal.

Hear the NSHSS Scholarships Administrator and NSHSS Fellows Vice President discuss some tips for standing out in the college admissions process and finding and applying for scholarships!

Members will hear congratulatory remarks and receive their own NSHSS honor medallion.

Event Details

This event will take place on the 3rd floor of the ASUC Student Union: Martin Luther King Jr. Building on the University of California, Berkeley campus. 

2495 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94720

Event attendees should plan to park in the Lower Sproul Parking Garage at 2465 Bancroft Way. The parking garage has elevator access directly to the 3rd floor of the MLK Building, where the event will be located. Parking is Hourly Pay Parking (South Campus, E3 on Campus Berkeley Parking Map).

Attendees are responsible for getting to and from the event location. NSHSS does not assist with airfare or hotels. We recommend that you register as soon as possible. Seating is limited, and registration will close once we reach the venue's maximum capacity. Only those who register via Eventbrite will be admitted to the event.

Are you interested in volunteering at this event? As a volunteer, you can still attend the sessions you are interested in throughout the day while helping out behind the scenes to earn volunteer service hours!
