NSHSS Nobel Week with Stockholm University

The 7th annual NSHSS Nobel Week hosted by Stockholm University took place December 5-10, 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden! The 25 participating members stemmed from 13 different countries/regions from all over the world: China, Hong Kong, Italy, Switzerland, India, United States, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Japan, Ukraine, Russia, Australia, and Sweden.

Participants had the opportunity to:

  • Attend lectures at Stockholm University presented by university professors on global challenges, Swedish innovation, research in the Arctic, and the history of the Nobel Prize as well as enjoy a Swedish lunch at the university’s canteen with local students
  • Hear from the 2019 Nobel Prize winners in Physics, Chemistry, and Economic Sciences
  • Tour Stockholm City Hall, host of the annual Nobel Banquet
  • Meet and greet with Stockholm University professors on the Noble Prize Committee at an exclusive luncheon only for NSHSS Members
  • Explore the Nobel Museum to learn more about the Nobel Prizes
  • Travel to Gothenburg for the Nobel Dialogue full of inspirational discussions by Nobel Laureates, policymakers and scientists
  • Enjoy the Swedish culture at a traditional Lucia concert and other notable museums such as the ABBA and Vasa Museum
  • Celebrate a great week with a farewell dinner reception with traditional Swedish cuisine!
