Scholar's Day in Washington, D.C.

NSHSS members, families, educators, and partners are invited to come and be honored at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C. on Friday, August 5 & Saturday, August 6, 2022.

This two-day educational conference will feature several educational workshops, a college and career fair, and countless networking opportunities. At Scholar's Day, NSHSS families will have a chance to learn more about all of the benefits of NSHSS membership including $2 million in scholarship opportunities yearly, access to an extensive network of university, educational, corporate, and government partners, and, of course, the lifetime network of fellow NSHSS members. This prestigious event is a celebration of academic excellence, where each member in attendance will be honored for their academic achievement. Join us at Scholar's Day in Washington D.C. for a weekend of education and being honored!

He is the Founder of The 100 Day Playbook, a guided Journal that helps students build better habits, boost productivity, & optimize their life. He has partnered with major organizations such as Sony Pictures and helps brands connect with students in meaningful ways. 
Through his message of Engagement & Action, Juan creates an environment that makes students, parents, and educators feel inspired, influential, and engaged. Juan gets students excited about engaging with their schools & communities. He uses storytelling, humor & LIVE DJing to highlight a message of Engagement, Leadership, & Decision Making that resonates with every audience member. Every year, Juan Keynotes annual conferences, orientation events, & student assemblies that bring him to over 50 cities across Canada & the United States. Juan brings a new energy to school campuses and conferences. His message has a lasting impact that sticks with students far beyond the speech.

Are there NSHSS Events COVID-19 protocols in place?

All attendees, partners, and speakers must wear a face covering at NSHSS Events. If mask usage is not adhered to, event participation may be limited.

Social distancing will be implemented throughout the entire event for all attendees. All NSHSS Staff have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

What is Scholar's Day?

Scholar's Day is NSHSS's signature event. Over the years, NSHSS has hosted thousands of members, families, partners and friends at Scholar's Day events in Washington D.C. and Atlanta, GA. Fun fact: the first Scholar's Day was held in the US Senate! 🏛️

 

Does NSHSS provide accommodations or transportation?

Each attendee is responsible for their own accommodation and transportation arrangements. NSHSS does not assist with airfare, however, we do provide a discounted hotel room block. See details above.

 

Will there be food at the event?

NSHSS will provide hors d'oeuvres during the Friday evening reception and a light breakfast on Saturday morning. Be sure to plan to provide your own meals otherwise. There are plenty of excellent restaurants surrounding the venue! NSHSS will share info about nearby eateries onsite.

 

Do I have to purchase tickets for my whole family?

Yes! To be admitted to Scholar's Day, each attendee must purchase a ticket via Eventbrite.

CORONAVIRUS & NSHSS EVENTS POLICY

We understand your concerns surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic. Rest assured that the health and safety of all of our members, their families, and our staff is our top priority. We are continuing to closely monitor worldwide developments regarding COVID-19.

All NSHSS event attendees will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. This requirement applies even if you are fully vaccinated. Masks are not required when food and beverage are being consumed in designated areas, or when speaking/presenting in an official capacity the event.

Following the guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), we ask that you do not attend any NSHSS events if you:

- have traveled from or transited to any country outside of the U.S. listed in Risk Assessment Level 4 and Level 3, 21 days prior to the NSHSS event

- have a positive COVID test prior to the NSHSS event

*NSHSS will provide a transfer credit or refund with proof of positive test 2 weeks before event date.*

 

NSHSS has incorporated the following policies at all events to ensure the safety of all participants:

-All attendees, partners, and speakers must wear a face covering at NSHSS Events. If mask usage is not adhered to, event participation may be limited.

-NSHSS staff traveling to and working at events have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

 

The World Health Organization (WHO) reminds us to take protective measures against the coronavirus, here’s how:

Wash your hands frequently

Maintain social distancing

Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth

Practice respiratory hygiene

If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early.

 

These precautionary safety measures will remain in effect until further notice. We will continue to monitor the current situation and will update these protocols as needed with information we receive from local health authorities, the CDC, WHO, and IMO.
