The program selects students based on academic achievement, volunteer commitment, leadership potential, and any contributing extracurricular activities. The application deadline runs from mid-October to mid-December of every year. Students anywhere in North America are encouraged to apply.
3. The Chick-Fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarship
This wonderfully generous scholarship began with a small decision: to help those in need. The founder of Chick-fil-A, Truett Cathy, put out an empty container of mayonnaise for employees to put cash into for his fellow team member, Eddie White’s college fund. Years later, this foundation has provided funds for rising college freshmen worldwide. Under this scholarship title are actually two programs: The True Inspiration Scholarship, which provides upwards of $25,000, and The Leadership Scholarship, which provides funds anywhere from $1,000 to $2,500. Anybody in their Senior year of high school can apply. The best part is that there are no fees attached to the application. This is one you will not want to miss.
4. The Excelsior Scholarship Program
This New York City-based scholarship is a great program for any high school student planning to attend either SUNY (State University of New York) or CUNY (The City University of New York) to keep their eye on. This scholarship covers tuition for any family in the New York City area whose family made $125,000 or less after taxes in the 2023–2024 year. 5. The TMCF & McDonald’s Black and Positively Golden Scholarship
For several years, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund has partnered with the McDonald’s corporation to allow students of color to excel in historically black colleges and universities. They believe in the power of education regardless of your skin color, background, or birthplace. In honor of their love for writing, they offer a $10,000 scholarship award to five students every year. To apply, you must be a high school Senior rising into college and submit a sample of fiction, memoir, poetry, or drama/theater.
