NSHSS Supports The King Center’s Salute to Greatness
NSHSS is proud to support The King Center’s Salute to Greatness Awards Dinner, which was held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia. This annual event is held the weekend prior to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, and engages thousands of leaders – young and established – in celebrating the spirit and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
NSHSS Student Council member Tony Betton, a freshman at Georgia State University, has been a long-time youth leader at The King Center. Tony was on-hand at the event to lead interviews of distinguished guests including political, corporate and civic leaders.
Dr. King spoke about the Beloved Community – his vision in which all people live peacefully and share in the wealth of the Earth. This was the theme of this year’s event and Dr. King’s principles are reflected in the tributes to the 2015 honorees, who include:
