Aani Nagaiah
Aani Nagaiah is an incoming USC freshman majoring in Health and Human Sciences. She aspires to become a compassionate and culturally competent physician who provides equitable care to patients of all backgrounds. As a medical student, Aani plans to pursue a minor in medical anthropology to gain a deeper understanding of the sociocultural factors that shape health and disease beyond the Western perspective. Her goal is to advocate for underserved communities and address disparities in healthcare access and outcomes. Whether working as a dermatologist ensuring proper diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions in patients of color or as a sports medicine doctor tackling racial and socioeconomic issues in athletics, she strives to make medicine more inclusive. Coming from a family with limited resources, Aani understands the importance of being seen and heard. Throughout her training and career, she intends to listen closely to patients' stories, collaborate with public health experts, and advocate against biases that negatively impact care. Her ultimate mission is to deliver high-quality, patient-centered medicine to all.
