Abbie Ha

Abbie plans to major in biochemistry to continue her education and research in nanotechnology while pursuing a pre-med track. Her research interests peaked during an internship at UTA’s Cardiovascular Bioengineering Laboratory, and she continued her research at the Governor’s Science and Technology Champions Academy at SMU. She has received numerous honors, including a third-place finish at the Texas Science and Engineering Fair and a research publication in the Journal of High School Science. She has also served in many leadership positions in and out of school as an active member of her youth group, the Science National Honor Society President, the Science Olympiad President, and the Diversity Advisory Committee Vice President of Fundraising. From raising over 56,000 items for students in need to empowering elementary students to pursue STEM, Abbie strives to positively impact her community.
