Alexandrine Harig
As a scholar, athlete, artist, and advocate, Alexandrine Harig is a committed rower, a consummate student, and a servant-leader at Culver Academies, Indiana. As a fifth grader, she was introduced to the global water issue and saw a path where, even as a young person, she could take small actions to bring safe water to those in need, one small effort – one drop - at a time. Alexandrine’s unwavering resolve to reduce global water disparity drew her to Water for Life Charity (WFLC). Leveraging her leadership and artistic abilities, Alexandrine has raised over $32,000 to contribute to the cost of water filters and wells in impoverished countries. As a self-prescribed perfectionist, she has authored, illustrated, and published Not Perfect? Perfect! It is a children’s book from which all proceeds are donated to WFLC.
Alexandrine is the recipient of WFLC’s 2019 Youth Humanitarian Award and the 2020 Blood Science Foundation’s Next-Up Award. In 2023, Alexandrine volunteered in Guatemala, where she assembled water filters for distribution and led workshops in Spanish to educate local women about the filters. Stateside, her recent endeavors include keynote speaking to share her journey to galvanize others into service.
