Audrey Smallwood
Audrey Smallwood is a graduating senior from Turlock, CA, who will be attending Boston College. Audrey is co-founder of Kitchens for Change, a non-profit getting students involved in tackling food insecurities. With the guidance of local chefs and access to their kitchens after hours, she and her team have fed refugees, the unhoused, senior citizens, and struggling families in their school district. Audrey also serves as a Youth Ambassador at Jessica's House, a local grief support center that once helped her heal after losing her father. She helps illuminate the realities of childhood grief through public speeches by sharing her personal grief story. As Jessica's House Group Facilitator, she helps walk children experiencing death to suicide or homicide through their journey with grief. By majoring in psychology and eventually getting her Master of Social Work, Audrey's goal is to make access to grief support an accessible resource for children and their families. Audrey aims to serve as living proof that life after loss is possible.
