Colin Olairez

Colin Olairez is from Richmond, California, and previously attended Middle College High School before committing to the University of California, Berkeley, in the Fall of 2023. As a highly interested student in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, Colin intends to major in Data Science and pursue a career in the tech industry. As someone who loves solving problems through logical thinking and calculation, the idea of being able to work with data in his career extensively is inspiring to him. He has a high level of ambition and motivation toward achieving his academic and career goals, which also reflects in his extracurriculars. Throughout high school, he has participated in Varsity Cross Country and Track & Field, various school interest clubs, and the MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) preparatory program. He has consistently participated in these extracurriculars for years, taken on leadership roles, and earned honors.

He attributes much of what he has done to the influence of his mother, family, and friends, who have always believed in Colin throughout the years. Outside his academic and career goals, he enjoys listening to music, running, and playing chess.
