Elif Ozturk
Elif Ozturk is a senior at Hopkins High School in Minnesota. She spent three years working on legislation that funds period products in all schools and universities in her state. The bills were passed into law in May 2023. Elif interned at a human rights organization during her Junior year and was invited to speak at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland. Her work focuses on combatting women's rights issues, from period poverty to domestic violence, along with ending the death penalty. In her free time, Elif tutors children in the foster care program is a member of Youth in Government and is on her School Board.
Claes Nobel Future Female Leader Scholarship encourages and empowers young women to assume future leadership roles in their colleges and universities, their careers, and communities and to become mentors for the young women following in their footsteps.
